Orangettes - Dark chocolate
Orangettes are an artisanal confectionery made from candied orange peel coated with 65% dark chocolate. This specialty is very popular in Belgium, but is also appreciated in many other countries.
To prepare orangettes, the orange peels are first blanched to remove their bitterness, then they are candied in a sugar syrup. Once candied, the barks are coated in melting dark chocolate to give them a crunchy texture and a rich, sweet flavor.
Orangettes can be enjoyed as a delicacy or as an accompaniment to coffee or tea and even a good Belgian beer. They are also often given as gifts or used to decorate cakes and desserts. Storage and Tasting: Store the chocolates in their packaging in a dry place between 15 and 18°C away from light and humidity, do not store in the refrigerator. To best appreciate the taste qualities of chocolates, we advise you to taste them in a calm environment, at a temperature close to 21°C.
